Practice-oriented Research

Scientific know-how combined with many years of practical experience, more than 80 laboratories and 3 research farms as well as close co-operation with business and industry in the region guarantee that Fachhochschule Osnabrueck engages in research that is of benefit to both partners - we supply enterprises and public institutions with solutions to their complex problems. In return, the Fachhochschule receives valuable feedback on the content and development of its study programmes.

The research projects are multiple and often have an interdisciplinary approach. They deal with, for instance, automation systems, intelligent research systems in environmental engineering or client-oriented nursing systems.

Technology Transfer and Continuing Education

Fachhochschule Osnabrueck and Universität Osnabrueck jointly operate a Centre for Technology Transfer. This office, which is located at the Fachhochschule, serves as an important intermediary between Osnabrueck‘s institutions of higher education, regional industry and commerce, the municipal associations and the public administration. Several institutes which interact with this technology transfer unit offer a variety of services and facilities such as doing research for and together with local enterprises. Other services also include organising specific courses in the field of practice-oriented further education and life-long learning.
